Wazhmah Osman is Assistant Professor of Media Studies at Temple University and one of the inaugural Jack Shaheen senior fellows at New York University, where she received her PhD. Her recent book, Television and the Afghan Culture Wars: Brought to You by Foreigners, Warlords, and Activists (University of Illinois Press, 2020) is the first ethnographic account of the impact of the US-led intervention on Afghan media makers. Osman is a member of the Afghan American Artists and Writers Association (AAAWA).
