Wang Fanxi was a leading Chinese Trotskyist revolutionary. He joined the Communist Party in 1925 and was won to Trotskyist ideas while studying in Moscow in 1928. He was expelled from the party in 1931, spent years in prison and lived in exile from 1949 until his death in 2002. He has been translated by Gregor Benton, the author of China’s Urban Revolutionaries: Explorations in the History of Chinese Trotskyism, 1921-1952.
