Vicvic Justiniani spent more than 20 years in the Philippine underground with the New People’s Army. She represented the women’s organization, MAKIBAKA, at the 1986 ceasefire talks, resumed her clandestine work when they collapsed and was then arrested in 1992, but subsequently released. She has remained active in human rights organizations.
