Valerio Arcary is a full professor at IFSP with a PhD in history. He was a founding member of the Workers Party (PT) in 1980 and a member of the PT’s National Executive between 1989-92. Arcary served as secretary general of CUT/São Paulo between 1985-86. He was national president of the PSTU between 1993-98. Since 2016 he has been a member of the National Coordination of MAIS-PSOL. He is the author of The Hammer of History among other books.
