Susanna Trnka is a Czech American who spent the summer of 1993 working for the Gender Studies Center in Prague. She co-edited, with Laura Busheiken, Bodies of Bread and Butter: Recasting Women’s Lives in the Post-Communist Czech Republic. In 2017 she edited Competing Responsibilities: The Ethics and Politics of Contemporary Life. An associate professor of anthropology, University of Auckland (New Zealand), she is a social/cultural and medical anthropologist.
