John Roosa is an associate professor in the history department at the University of British Columbia. His latest book is Buried Histories: The Anti-Communist Massacres of 1965-66 in Indonesia (University of Wisconsin Press, forthcoming 2020). His 2006 book is Pretext for Mass Murder: The September 30th Movement and Suharto’s Coup D’Etat in Indonesia.
