Haunani-Kay Trask is a professor emeritus at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Ske is a Native Hawaiian and leader in the Hawaiian struggle. In 1990-91 Trask was the center of controversy on campus that threatened her job, raising issues of racism, sexism and academic freedom. Later she produced the award-winning documentary, Act of War: The Overthrow of the Hawaiian Nation (1993).
