Edward L. Whitfield is a community activist in Greensboro, NC. In the late 1960s, while a student at Cornell, he was a founding member of the Student Organization for Black Unity (SOBU), a Pan-Africanist group that supported the African Liberation Support Committee. He taught at Malcolm X Liberation University in Greensboro and has written on educational equity issues.
