Claudia Morcom was a social activist throughout her life. She represented the National Lawyers Guild in Mississippi during Freedom Summer (1964) and was the Southern Regional Director for the Guild in Mississippi from September 1964 through October 1965. She participated in a lawyers’ delegation to Palestine in 2002 and was a participant at the World Congress Against Racism in Durban, South Africa in 2011. Morcom served as a Wayne County Circuit Court Judge from 1983 to 1998.
