Carlos Muñoz, Jr. is professor emeritus in the Department of Ethnic Studies and Adjunct Faculty, Center for Latin American Studies, University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Muñoz was the founding chair of the first Chicano Studies department and is the author of several works on the Mexican American political experience, including Youth, Identity, Power: The Chicano Movement (1989).
