Arlene R. Keizer is now chair of Humanities and Media Studies at Pratt Institute in New York City. She is the author of Black Subjects: Identity Formation in the Contemporary Narrative of Slavery (Cornell University Press, 2004). Her interest are literary and cultural studies, critical theory, feminist theory, particularly Black feminist theory, and psychoanalysis.
