Rasmea Yousef Odeh

Rasmea Yousef Odeh is a Palestinian who, as a young woman, was convicted by Israeli military courts for her supposed role in the 1969 Jerusalem Supermarket bombing. After her release in a prisoner exchange, she immigrated to the United States, became a U.S. citizen, and she served as associate director at the Arab American Action Network in Chicago. As a strong feminist, she wras particularly drawn to women who suffered the trauma of torture as she had. Targeted for immigration fraud, and despite demonstrations in her support, she was convicted in 2014, denied an appeal and deported.
