An eloquent plea by Kunal’s daughter, Nayanika Chattopadhyay, on the Indian crowdfunding platform MILAAP explains his situation:
My name is Nayanika Chattopadhyay, and I am raising funds for my father, Kunal Chattopadhyay, a 66-year-old retired professor who is battling an aggressive form of cancer — Dual Primary High-Grade TCC Urothelial and Prostatic Carcinoma…
Due to the aggressive nature of the disease, his age, and early relapse, doctors have recommended immunotherapy, which is currently the most effective treatment option available…
[After several claims rejections, my father’s health insurance] policy was cancelled by the insurance company, leaving us to cover all expenses ourselves…
So far, we have been managing the expenses through our life savings, my father’s retirement funds, and loans from friends and family
However, given the lapse in my father’s insurance coverage and the extremely high cost of ongoing immunotherapy, these resources will soon be exhausted.
To continue the remaining treatment cycles and give my father a real chance at recovery, we urgently need ₹62 lakhs [$66,000].
My father has spent his life teaching and mentoring students. In addition, he has dedicated his life to political and social activism, which brings no personal profit but fights for social justice.
Kunal continues to write as he fights for his life. Please follow this link and contribute what you can:
