Annette T. Rubinstein was an radical author, educator, and political activist for 75 years. She was active in the Unemployed Councils during the depression and later ran for public office on the American Labor Party (ALP) ticket. Her two-volume The Great Tradition in English Literature: From Shakespeare to Shaw earned her an international reputation.
